Christmas was a little different for us this year. Aside from being a little sad that we were away from home we considered ourselves lucky to have a little bit of home come to us.  Licorice, Lululemon and Loved Ones sprinkled us with their greatness this holiday season.
Guests, guests and more guests.  From Saskatchewan holiday-ers to our live-in guests we never had an uneventful day.  Alana’s dad, “Bob”, introduced us to Ernesto's Fine Grub, which he discovered in 1987 during one of his “Men’s Club (No Women Allowed) Meetings”.  The boys from the club have been going for all you can eat ribs for years.  It's Canadian owned.  In 1952 a young Canadian boy fell in love with a Mexican women, they opened their own restaurant shortly after.  Bob tells us, “its been the same restaurant, same ribs, same owners and same happy couple ever since”.
After impressing Bob with our ability to close down an All-You-Can-Eat rib kitchen, we stole his daughter away for several days of surfing at Salulyta.
Mat’s reffing comrades from Regina also enjoyed a ride on the waves, so we thought that we better take Lacey and Field to score in on the action as well.  Unfortunately one of the days did not present us with good surfing conditions.  On the upside, we discovered buckets of beer (7 Coronas / 100 pesos).  Allow me to do the math for you.  That's roughly a dollar a beer.   Needless to say we lost track of how many buckets we ordered.
A definite highlight was the deep sea fishing adventure. Image a million dollar boat, 10 great friends, a private captain at your service and a sunny, hot day. Fish were caught, dolphins swam, whales breached and one girl puked.  Poor D'arcy!  She is a trooper though.  In between vomiting session she was still able to stand up and direct her husband on how to properly reel in a fish, sort of . . .  (see video).
Street tacos- Yum Yum Yum!  we took our friends to taco district, the neighborhood we live in, and we enjoyed tacos hot off the grill, Spanish conversations, and people watching.

| Look how happy these two peas in a pod are.  I have to thank Alana for entertaining Mat.  These two were like too little kids in a pool, literally!  I had to take away water guns, sand pails, and pool noodles so no one got hurt.  Little devils. |

This million dollar boat was a real beauty; can't wait for round 2.
We are looking forward to our next round of guests arriving.  A few more months of friendly faces will make our time fly by way too fast.
