Wedding Crashers

I am officially introducing Fielding and Lacey Simpkins.  The couple took the plunge on February 4th, 2011.    Below are pictures from the days leading up to and on the BIG DAY.

Being the Maid of Honour comes with many privileges and responsibility.  Unfortunately for Lacey, I was the worst MOH ever!  Thankfully, the crew I rolled with picked up my short ends and tied them together for me.  I mean really, who knew that the MOH needs to be responsible for hosting a shower, keeping tabs on the brides bouquet, holding the brides dress when walking, pinning up the dress, carrying her purse, and the list goes on.

Do not fear, the rest of the bridesmaids were near, and not timid at pointing out my short comings.  In fact, many times I would turn around to find one of the bridesmaids clearing her throat as they came to my rescue, sometimes the frog in their throats sounded like, "hmm, this is your job".  How was I to know?  I thought I had one job, get the bride a beer.  Now that job I did with honour and pride!

Despite my inadequacies, the bride was more than tolerant of me.  In fact, she was in such a happy-go-lucky mood that we ( the wedding party) kept waiting for a bridezilla to jump out at any turn.  Not that Lacey has that quality in her, but even the best of the best can be weighed down by wedding stress.  But no, no matter what happened, Lacey always had a smile on her face and her chin up.  She really was the blushing bride.

The wedding party traveled from one stop to the next in a high-class Hummer Limo.  And if it was not high class, it certainly was roomy.  And if it was not a Hummer, it certainly was handy.  It came equip with everything a party could need.  Good tunes, cold refreshment, a classy driver and wedding decorations to boot.

The only uncertainty to the day, was whether I would attend or not.  Just my luck, I come down with a horrible flu.  Just the thought of standing up made me top off the mop bucket with projectile vomit. I didn't mind the slosh coming back up in my face, but the thought of being MIA made me sick to my stomach, literally.

I prevailed.  I got myself together and made it to Nipawin.  Thank goodness for my very close and trusty friend. Jackboy drove me and took care of me.  What a great friend.  Not only was I feeling much better the day of the wedding, but Jackboy did not even blink an eye when she wound up bed ridden and clenching her stomach for the entire day. I wonder who got her sick.....What a trooper.  Needless to say, we were the lamest pair of bridesmaids around.  We did get to hold each others hair back, but not for the reasons we intended.

Lacey did not worry about her frail display of support, as Field's groomsmen were quite the motley crew and they filled in where we came up short.  These guys had us laughing all day long.  From their singing, to their dancing, to their ability to put up with us sick ones, they made the day a treat!

Speaking of treat, being around Lacey's Nipawin girlfriends once again, made me appreciate what great friendships she has around her.  These girls do not have a Debbie Downer bone in their body.  Even when one is 8.5 months preggers, she is still willing to kick off her boots( if she can get them over her "cankles") and go with the flow.

The night was a success!  Right down till 4:00am in the morning.  We are all looking forward to a do-over at the "Trash the Dress" event this summer.

And then there were four....wait!  Where's the fifth?

Antie Net and Dale

The wedding singer and later we to our surprise the wedding dancer.

Yum! Pizza for breakfast.

Hold on Lacey, you are almost ready.

"No, I think we were suppose to start from the top "

Final touches.  Where's the MOH?

Let the good times roll.

"Stop it!  My side hurts from laughing so hard."

"Can I have you attention please?"

Still laughing....

This ones for Mat....

......and more laughing.  Maybe if we stop laughing, Alecia can get a picture with her eyes open.

Zoey! French kiss?

Oh, here he is.  Groomsmen Number 5.

It's 4am, Time Go home!
