Wherever the Road Leads

Wherever the road leads, or ends in this case.  Many walking trails lead you right to the ocean's edge,  one more step and it's all she wrote.

Las Animas is a clever beach front town which is only accessible by water taxi.  Unless you want to hike, which we opted for.

Although it is only a 2 hour hike, do not be fooled.  It has a few switch backs and  steep climbs but the biggest factor is hydration, which our surprise visitors can attest too! With temperatures reaching to the mid 30's and humid-ex tailing 40 degrees, you will want a steady supply of water with you.   Lins and Jeremy will have to write their own version of this hike, as they explored it just a few weeks after us and felt like we graciously underestimated the severity of the weather. I guess we are finally acclimatized.

Highlights of this hike are the private beaches you will find along the way.  They feel untouched and glamorized by the white sand and bright blue water.  As well as the scattered walkways which make you feel like you will be reaching the City of OZ at any given moment.

The beach-side town of Las Animas, is the refueling point.  A cold cervesa and the best jumbo shrimp plate you can find in Mexico, gives you just what you need to make the trip back home; your second wind.

Boca at 8am.  Our starting point.

Or I'll huff and I'll puff and blow your house down.

I thought no one gets left behind?  Harley, come back and save me!

Las Animas

Back at Boca for a refreshing fresh cold water swim.
